Description
Up for sale is a vintage Ambico Super-Duper model V-0660 VCR to VCR duplicator/enhancer device.
This unit was seldom used back in the day... so much so, in fact, that I believe it may have only been used once or twice at the most. I came across it recently when undergoing a massive spring cleaning around the house, and also managed to find the original manuals that came with it and an AC Adapter with the same branding on it... so I can only assume that this power adapter must belong to it.
This AC Adapter is listed as Part No. 45-0660 (which is very similar to the model number,
mind you) and has an input of 117 VAC 60Hz 5W with an output of 12VDC 50mA. It's a Class 2 Transformer made in Taiwan, whereas the unit itself was made in Japan.
I have no means by which to test the unit to see if it's fully operational. The only thing I could manage to test out was the AC Adapter itself... by probing it with a multimeter and getting a reading.
The power adapter seems to be working, although I cannot guarantee its continued working state due to its overall age and being kept in storage for so long.
The manuals, product catalog, and quick start/setup guide have a bit of wear on them from storage; mainly bent up corners on the pages, but nothing too serious; for all the print is still perfectly legible.
The unit had a bit of dust on it from being kept in storage, but I cleaned it up with an alcohol
swab and it looks a bit better now.
The cables are those type of semi-transparent cables that look like something NASA would use... these types of cables were all the rage for quite some time back in the nineties I believe, though I can't say for sure when it was that we had purchased this item. It could have been the late eighties or early nineties, for all I know. All of the available documentation included in this lot is devoid of a copyright date, so I really have no exact way of knowing when this model was made.
The unit has two knobs on it for adjusting the video and audio gain along with a pair of gold plated connectors on either side of the box labeled as video & audio in and video & audio out.
